The real range of the units
A modern heat pump heats in winter and cools in summer. The Airy, Clivia, Freematch, and Flexx series maintain heating down to -30°C. The Charmo series stops at -25°C.
Southern and central Quebec have fewer than fifteen days per winter below -20°C. The rest of the season, the unit handles the load on its own. The backup system is only for peak periods.

Street dust, pollen, range hood grease. The layer builds up between the fins, heat exchange degrades, discharge pressure rises, and the compressor works longer for the same result. Nobody sees it coming.
The amount is calculated based on the heating capacity at -8 °C, not the appliance’s nominal power. Most contractors write “up to $6,700.” We cross-reference the appliance’s AHRI number with Hydro-Québec’s official list and enter the exact amount in the quote.

Indoor air quality
It recycles the air in the room; it doesn’t bring in fresh air. In a well-insulated house, humidity and CO₂ rise, leading to foggy windows and stuffy mornings. Health Canada recommends maintaining relative humidity between 30 and 50%.
The Clivia series is the only wall-mounted unit in the range to offer a fresh air kit. It treats the room it’s in, not the whole building: it doesn’t replace an air exchanger.
R-32 refrigerant, A2L leak detection sensor included, factory-installed Wi-Fi, variable-speed compressor, and self-diagnostics across the entire series.

Yes. The Airy, Clivia, Freematch, and Flexx series heat down to -30°C, and the Charmo series down to -25°C. Southern and central Quebec have fewer than fifteen days per winter below -20°C: the rest of the time, the heat pump handles the load. A backup system takes over during extreme cold peaks.
$250 plus tax for a daytime call, which includes one hour of labor and travel. Beyond that, it’s $120 per hour. An emergency call between 4 PM and 7 AM is $600, including two hours of labor and one hour of travel.
The labor warranty is one year. The manufacturer’s warranty covers the compressor and parts for 10 years, extended to 12 years when the unit is registered with proof of installation. We handle the registration ourselves.
Not in existing buildings. The regulations adopted or under study in Quebec apply to new constructions. In Montreal, a regulation is in effect for new builds. The one for the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal, which covers Laval, was still awaiting ministerial approval in spring 2026.
A residential wall-mounted installation is usually completed within the day. A central system or a multi-zone project takes longer, depending on the condition of the ductwork and access to the locations.
Since November 26, 2025, ENERGY STAR certification is a requirement for the LogisVert program. No Charmo models are certified, nor is the 24,000 BTU/h Airy. For this capacity, the lost aid significantly exceeds the price difference with an eligible unit.
